COVID-Safe Plan

The Mid Murray Council has advise the following to 4WDSA.

The SA Government has announced important changes to South Australia’s Roadmap for Easing COVID-19 Restrictions

As a result of the easing of restrictions for certain premises, any premises that was previously directed to close or implement restrictions must complete a COVID-Safe Plan. If your business/premises was allowed to reopen during Step 1 of South Australia’s Roadmap to Recovery, you must complete a Plan before 1 June, or prior to opening,(subject to the official direction being executed by the Police Commissioner).

What is a COVID-Safe Plan?

  • A COVID-Safe Plan is a list of measures designed to keep staff and patrons safe and minimise the risk of spreading COVID-19.
  • The requirement for defined businesses (including community groups) to have a Plan comes into operation from 1 June 2020.

Your community group/sporting organisation was advised by Council via email in late March of the necessity for Council to close all non-essential local government services by midnight on 25 March 2020 as per the direction of the Commissioner of Police under the Emergency Management Act 2004 in South Australia.

Among the facilities and activities required to close or cease at that time, because they were leased from Council or situated on Council land, were:

  • libraries and community centres, youth centres and community halls;
  • galleries, museums and historic sites;
  • recreation centres and swimming pools;
  • social sporting activities;
  • health clubs, fitness centres, saunas and wellness centres; and
  • indoor and outdoor play centres.

To assist you in completing the COVID Safe Plan, information regarding the Plan can be accessed here.  Once you have read the content, click the button “Complete the COVID-Safe Plan form” and proceed to complete the form. The Plan is to be printed and made available at your premises or place of doing business and able to be inspected by an authorised officer should it be requested.

Guidance on completing and implementing your Plan is provided in this document (COVID-Safe-Plan-REVISED-28-May.pdf from www.covid-19.sa.gov.au).

The Australian Government has online COVID-19 training available and it is recommended that Community Groups/Lessees undertake this training, which is available at the following link www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/covid-19-infection-control-training
