BLUE SEPTEMBER IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE INAUGURAL QUEEN OF THE DESERT FESTIVAL 2015 -- HOSTED BY MARK HOLDEN

The Queen Of The Desert Festival 1st – 4th April 2015 is a fun--‐packed 720km outback 4WD charity adventure, travelling along the Oodnadatta Track from Marree to Coober Pedy via William Creek, Oodnadatta and the Painted Desert. The Festival is a celebration of the many successful local films produced in the South Australian outback and aims to promote and benefit the remote communities of Far North South Australia.

The Queen Of The Desert Festival also proudly supports Blue September; the nationwide awareness and fundraising initiative about the many cancers that affect men. Singer, songwriter and media personality Mark Holden, as the official ambassador representing Blue September, will host the four--‐day event. Along the journey, Mark will meet with local communities promoting the commendable work of the organisation.

The public is invited to assemble a team, dress up and decorate their 4WDs with an Aussie film theme, to join Mark on one of the most exhilarating outback experiences along the Oodnadatta Track. Four days of driving fun with plenty of time to take in the sights along the way – history, magnificent scenery, spectacular night skies and indigenous culture – and no better way to see the miracle of Lake Eyre than with a scenic flight over the lake at William Creek flying Wrights Air.

The teams will then join the spectacular Opal Festival parade of floats in Coober Pedy on Easter Saturday April 4th.

There is a maximum of forty 4WD vehicles (four people per vehicle) eligible to compete in the event, so you’ll need to be quick to secure your spot! The entry cost per vehicle is $375 (Additional passengers cost an extra $50 per person). All participants are encouraged to arrange donations from companies, family, friends and work colleagues to help Blue September raise $30,000 to support the fight against men’s cancer. There will be prizes awarded to the best--‐decorated vehicle and to the team that raises the most funds for Blue September.

Getting involved means participants will have the opportunity of enjoying a trip to remember with Mark and to raise much needed funds to help fight men’s cancer. Mark Holden will deservedly be inducted into the South Australian Music Hall Of Fame April 10th 2015.
